Lower Barriers to Trade
John McCain believes that globalization is an opportunity for American workers today and in the future. Ninety-five percent of the world's customers lie outside our borders, and we need to be at the table when the rules for access to those markets are written. To do so, the U.S. should engage in multilateral, regional and bilateral efforts to reduce barriers to trade, level the global playing field and build effective enforcement of global trading rules.
Competitive American Workers
John McCain understands that globalization will not automatically benefit every American. We must prepare the next generation of workers by making American education worthy of the promise we make to our children and ourselves. We must be a nation committed to competitiveness and opportunity. We must fight for the ability of all students to have access to any school of demonstrated excellence. We must place parents and children at the center of the education process, empowering parents by greatly expanding the ability of parents to choose among schools for their children. John McCain will overhaul unemployment insurance and make it a program for retraining, relocating and assisting workers who have lost a job. The unemployment insurance system created in the 1950s needs to be modernized to meet the goals of helping displaced workers make ends meet between jobs and moving people quickly on to the next opportunity. John McCain will reform the half-dozen training programs to approaches that can be used to meet the bills, pay for training, and get back to work. John McCain believes that we can strengthen community colleges and technical training, and give displaced workers more choices to find their way back to productive and prosperous lives.

Sweet Life Lessons and some gratitude...
This morning started bright and early again this morning. Eli had drama camp again today. He is so excited about his play this weekend. He has the part of George. LOL! He is a little boys spending the day on a farm. It is really cute. I had to run errands for Tommy this morning in Spartanburg and then Bleeze and I met the Ward girls again today at Mimi's Japanese restaurant. It was so yummy. Bleeze and Anna were so precious. They love each other lots! I have some pics I will post later. Then I had to pick Eli up from camp. I spent the afternoon doing laundry and homeschooling. This evening I went to the new Walmart on Pelham. I LOVE IT!! It is smaller in size and so clean.. and everything is "green"! We had dinner at S&S tonight. The boys love go there and they eat plus it gets veggies in them. I just love that it is cheap. Eli had soccer tonight. When I went to pick him up we arrived early and so Bleeze moved up to the front seat with me. He had me laughing so hard. He is hilarious. Speaking of Bleeze.....here 's a story for you.
I have been telling the boys to not say the word "hate". So today I was in horrible traffic ( for the locals...WOODRUFF RD) I said, "UGGGHHHH, I HATE TRAFFIC" Bleeze says..."oooooo mommy, that's a bad word" I said, "oh, yes, that's right, I am so sorry" He said, " you love traffic mommy. We don't hate... we love." LOL!!! Oh I thought I would die! I said, "oh yes!" He said, "say it mommy, say it" so I had to say, "I love traffic" Oh my goodness! He is so hilarious! I guess I learned my lesson for today.......

Reforms To Reduce The Rate Of Health Care Inflation
John McCain proposes a number of initiatives that can lower health care costs. If we act today, we can lower health care costs for families through common-sense initiatives. Within a decade, health spending will comprise twenty percent of our economy. This is taking an increasing toll on America's families and small businesses. Cheaper Drugs: John McCain will look to bring greater affordability and competition to our drug markets through safe re-importation of drugs and faster introduction of generic drugs. Chronic Disease: Chronic conditions account for three-quarters of the nation's annual health care bill. By emphasizing prevention, early intervention, healthy habits, new treatment models, new public health infrastructure and the use of information technology, we can significantly reduce these costs. We should dedicate more federal research to treating and curing chronic disease. Coordinated Care: Coordinated care - with providers collaborating to produce the best health care for the patient - offers better outcomes at lower cost. We should pay a single bill for high-quality care which will make every single provider accountable and responsive to the patients' needs. Greater Access And Convenience: Families place a high value on quickly getting simple care. Government should promote greater access through walk-in clinics in retail outlets. Information Technology: John McCain will promote the rapid deployment of 21st century information systems and technology to improve patient safety, enhance quality and lower costs. Medicaid And Medicare: John McCain will reform the payment systems in Medicaid and Medicare to compensate providers for diagnosis, prevention and care coordination. Medicaid and Medicare should not pay for preventable medical errors or mismanagement. We also need to implement a zero tolerance policy towards Medicare and Medicaid fraud that is increasingly stripping away resources from the sick and the elderly. Smoking: John McCain will promote the availability of smoking cessation programs. Most smokers would love to quit but find it hard to do so. Working with businesses and insurance companies to promote availability, we can improve lives and reduce associated chronic diseases through smoking cessation programs. Tort Reform: John McCain will lead the fight for medical liability reform that eliminates lawsuits directed at doctors who follow clinical guidelines and adhere to proven safety protocols. Every patient should have access to legal remedies in cases of bad medical practice but that should not be an open invitation to endless, frivolous lawsuits that drive up health care costs for everyone and make the practice of medicine unaffordable for good doctors everywhere. Transparency: John McCain believes we must make information on treatment options and doctor records more public, and require greater transparency regarding medical outcomes, quality of care, costs and prices. We must also facilitate the development of national standards for measuring and evaluating treatments and outcomes.

Great Day and Some Gratitude....
The morning started bright and early. Eli had to be up and and at the theater early. It was so cold this morning. I think we are skipping fall and headed right into winter. We have a freeze warning for tonight! Bleeze and I joined the Ward girls for a playdate at Pump It Up. It was fun. Bleeze and Anna had fun playing together as usual. After I picked up Eli it was line rehearsals, homeschool, and work around the house. I let him skip tennis today. It is WAY to cold! This evening was our weekly date night with the boys. It was my week with Bleeze. He wanted horrid McDonalds so that is what we did and then I just took him to Dollar General for a little cheap toy. He think it is awesome. A plastic CD player. (It plays plastic, fake CD's) LOL! We also visited with my parents tonight too. I would have to say the highlight was when Eli got home from his date night w/ Tommy ( I still do not know what they did) we all got baths and curled up on the coach together with our snoopy blankets and watched THE GREAT PUMPKIN CHARLIE BROWN! SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!! Now the boys are in bed. I have some reading and writing to do. Before I go though, I will show my gratitude for the day.

okay... I had to repost this. I know I have posted a lot of political post but this is from a blog of a local pastor, Perry Noble. He writes some pretty awesome blogs and I love this one! It will make you think!
Frustrated With Politics & Christians
I’ve just about had enough…and am so glad I left the country yesterday…that way I don’t have to listen to this crap anymore.
And no, I’m not talking about the politicians and their crazy adds on television that are right in line with a middle school “yo mama” fight!
I’m talking about the Christians who have prostituted themselves with the political process and taken their eyes off of Jesus as their Savior and put them on either McCain or Obama as their Savior.
It’s STUPID!
Should we have a political opinion as Christians? HECK YES! Should we vote? ABSOLUTELY! I think a Christian who doesn’t vote is completely missing an opportunity that God has blessed us with as citizens of this country.
BUT…we can’t actually think that the salvation process is tied to who happens to be in the White House!
In reading through the Gospels the other day something HIT ME like a ton of bricks…the Jews missed the fact that Jesus was the Messiah because they were looking for someone to deliver them from the politics of Rome.
Let me say it more clearly–they missed Jesus because of politics!!! (And religion as well…but that’s another post!)For a Christian to claim that the world is going to be doomed to hell because a particular party happens to “control” the White House is a slap in the face of a Sovereign God.
He reigns! Read through Scripture & it is so clear…God has used kings and princes that were sold out to Him…and He’s also used those who had no love for Him at all…all for HIS glory!
So…next Tuesday…go vote! “For who,” you ask…well, here’s an idea…ask Jesus who to vote for…and then do what He says. (Yes, it REALLY is that simple.)
Then…whoever gets elected…PRAY FOR THAT MAN OFTEN! Even if the guy you want to win doesn’t…all the more reason to pray!

Bleeze is declaring his independence...
Bleeze has been declaring his Independence for several weeks. He declares that he is BIG and that he can do EVERYTHING by himself. I took these pics of him last week. He got up and dressed himself. These pictures really do not do it justice. He took off his "goodnight" and failed to put on underwear. Those pants are HUGE on him so when he turned it around you could see his little hiney! LOL! He would not allow me to take a picture of that! Notice that the shoes are on the wrong feet. He is so precious!!!

Nuclear Power: Nuclear power is a proven, reliable, zero-emission source of energy, and it is time to recommit to advancing our use of nuclear power. The U.S. has not started construction on a new nuclear power plant in over 30 years. Currently, nuclear power provides 20 percent of our overall energy portfolio. Other countries such as China, India and Russia are looking to increase the role of nuclear power in their energy portfolio and the U.S. should not just look to maintain, but increase its own use. John McCain will put our country on track to construct 45 new nuclear power plants by 2030 with the ultimate goal of eventually constructing 100 new plants. It is also critical that the U.S. be able to build the components for these plants and reactors within our country so that we are not dependent on foreign suppliers with long wait times to move forward with our nuclear plans. The development of new nuclear plants will re-create a U.S. industry that has disappeared: manufacturing components of nuclear power plants, as well as assembling and operating the plants. A rough estimate is that 45 new nuclear power plants will create roughly 700,000 jobs - jobs in construction, engineering, operation and maintenance. Coal: John McCain will commit $2 billion annually to advancing clean coal technologies. Coal produces the majority of our electricity today. Some believe that marketing viable clean coal technologies could be over 15 years away. John McCain believes that this is too long to wait, and we need to commit significant federal resources to the science, research and development that advance this critical technology. Once commercialized, the U.S. can then export these technologies to countries like China that are committed to using their coal - creating new American jobs and allowing the U.S. to play a greater role in the international green economy. The development of clean coal technology will revitalize coal mining and return jobs to some of America's most economically disadvantaged areas. The demonstration projects alone will employ over 30,000 Americans. Renewables: John McCain will encourage the market for alternative, low carbon fuels such as wind, hydro and solar power. According to the Department of Energy, wind could provide as much as one-fifth of electricity by 2030. The U.S. solar energy industry continues its double-digit annual growth rate in 2008. To develop these and other sources of renewable energy will require that we rationalize the current patchwork of temporary tax credits that provide commercial feasibility. John McCain believes in an even- handed system of tax credits that will remain in place until renewable energy has progressed to the point that it is competitive with conventional energy sources.
Expand Domestic ProductionOf Oil And Gas
John McCain will commit our country to expanding domestic oil and natural gas exploration. The current federal moratorium on drilling in the Outer Continental Shelf stands in the way of energy exploration and production. John McCain believes it is time for the federal government to lift these restrictions and work with states to put our own reserves to use. There is no easier or more direct way to prove to the world that we will no longer be subject to the whims of others than to expand our production capabilities. We have trillions of dollars worth of oil and gas reserves in the U.S. at a time we are exporting hundreds of billions of dollars a year overseas to buy energy. This is the largest transfer of wealth in the history of mankind. We should keep more of our dollars here in the U.S., lessen our foreign dependency, increase our domestic supplies, and reduce our trade deficit - 41 percent of which is due to oil imports. John McCain proposes to cooperate with the states and the Department of Defense in the decisions to develop these resources. Estimates from the Minerals Management Service indicate that technically recoverable resources currently off limits in the lower 48 OCS total 18 billion barrels of crude oil and 77 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. John McCain believes in promoting and expanding the use of our domestic supplies of oil and natural gas when people are hurting, and struggling to afford gasoline, food and other necessities, and when our manufacturing businesses are increasingly hampered by the high cost of natural gas.
Addressing Speculative Pricing Of Oil
John McCain believes we must understand the role speculation is playing in our soaring energy prices. John McCain will put our country on track to construct 45 new nuclear power plants by 2030 with the ultimate goal of eventually constructing 100 new plants. It is also critical that the U.S. be able to build the components for these plants and reactors within our country so that we are not dependent on foreign suppliers with long wait times to move forward with our nuclear plans. The development of new nuclear plants will re-create a U.S. industry that has disappeared: manufacturing components of nuclear power plants, as well as assembling and operating the plants. A rough estimate is that 45 new nuclear power plants will create roughly 700,000 jobs - jobs in construction, engineering, operation and maintenance. Coal: John McCain will commit $2 billion annually to advancing clean coal technologies. Coal produces the majority of our electricity today. Some believe that marketing viable clean coal technologies could be over 15 years away. John McCain believes that this is too long to wait, and we need to commit significant federal resources to the science, research and development that advance this critical technology. Once commercialized, the U.S. can then export these technologies to countries like China that are committed to using their coal - creating new American jobs and allowing the U.S. to play a greater role in the international green economy. The development of clean coal technology will revitalize coal mining and return jobs to some of America's most economically disadvantaged areas. The demonstration projects alone will employ over 30,000 Americans. Renewables: John McCain will encourage the market for alternative, low carbon fuels such as wind, hydro and solar power. According to the Department of Energy, wind could provide as much as one-fifth of electricity by 2030. The U.S. solar energy industry continues its double-digit annual growth rate in 2008. To develop these and other sources of renewable energy will require that we rationalize the current patchwork of temporary tax credits that provide commercial feasibility. John McCain believes in an even- handed system of tax credits that will remain in place until renewable energy has progressed to the point that it is competitive with conventional energy sources.
Expand Domestic ProductionOf Oil And Gas
John McCain will commit our country to expanding domestic oil and natural gas exploration. The current federal moratorium on drilling in the Outer Continental Shelf stands in the way of energy exploration and production. John McCain believes it is time for the federal government to lift these restrictions and work with states to put our own reserves to use. There is no easier or more direct way to prove to the world that we will no longer be subject to the whims of others than to expand our production capabilities. We have trillions of dollars worth of oil and gas reserves in the U.S. at a time we are exporting hundreds of billions of dollars a year overseas to buy energy. This is the largest transfer of wealth in the history of mankind. We should keep more of our dollars here in the U.S., lessen our foreign dependency, increase our domestic supplies, and reduce our trade deficit - 41 percent of which is due to oil imports. John McCain proposes to cooperate with the states and the Department of Defense in the decisions to develop these resources. Estimates from the Minerals Management Service indicate that technically recoverable resources currently off limits in the lower 48 OCS total 18 billion barrels of crude oil and 77 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. John McCain believes in promoting and expanding the use of our domestic supplies of oil and natural gas when people are hurting, and struggling to afford gasoline, food and other necessities, and when our manufacturing businesses are increasingly hampered by the high cost of natural gas.

Dont be afraid to speak up....
I was so hesitant about posting anything political in my blogs or in emails. As this election has went by I have started sharing my opinions and posting information. I have received countless private messages and emails from people stating that they are in agreement with me or disagreement with me (that's the beauty of living in the land of the free). However, countless individuals have stated that they do not post or say anything because they don't want an argument or to cause conflict. I DO NOT post to cause conflict. I post because it is my opinions, concerns, and/or to educate others. I want to urge you today, do not be afraid to speak up on your beliefs no matter which candidate you support. Yes, voting is personal, but at the same time standing up for what you believe in or what you want your country to be is important also. Something you say could influence someone to get out and vote. To take part of our wonderful right to vote for our president. To share in the freedom of living in a democracy. Don't worry about what others think or say. If you believe in it strong enough stand up and say so! Only 7 more days and it will all be over (thank God).

update and some gratitude
Sunday was good. We had an awesome picnic w/ my parents up at Pearson's Fall. We had planned to go several weeks ago. I am glad that we chose this past weekend it was nice and the leaves were really pretty. My mom and dad cooked an awesome lunch picnic. It was great. Sunday night we went to trunk treats at church and then out to dinner at Two Guys with the Ward's. I have pics to post. I hopefully will get that done tomorrow.
I have cleaned and done laundry all day today. This week is going to be crazy busy because we have all our normal activites plus Eli is doing a drama camp this week. He will be in a play this weekend and it is going to be awesome. I am very tired tonight so I am going to turn in now. Hope everyone has an awesome week.

okay guys, I realize that some of you are totally sick of the entire political issues right now. To be honest, I am sick of it too. I am really ready for it all to be over. We only have 8 more days until election day. I know some of you want the post to stop. I however, feel strongly about this election and feel compelled to post. Sneezy Saturday....and some gratitude
I think it is official we all have colds. Bleeze is sneezy and coughing and so am I. Eli had me up in the middle of the night coughing and Tommy woke up with congestion also. But we will make it. It could be a lot worse! We stayed home all day. We did manage to go to Eli's soccer game. They tied today. That was good b/c their playing stunk until the last quarter. Tommy and I went to church tonight. That is one good thing about attending a church with service on Saturday and Sunday. We can't take Bleeze tomorrow b/c of all his yucky cold symptoms. Mom and Dad kept the kids and we had dinner with them after church. Church was good of course. The music was great tonight. I made cupcakes for the bake sale at Trunk Treats at church tomorrow night. All and all despite the sneezing, snotting, and coughing we had a good day. Going to show my Gratitude and snuggle with my boys.

Reforming Washington to Regain the Trust of Taxpayers
Bring The Budget To Balance By 2013
John McCain will balance the budget by the end of his first term. The near-term path to balance is built on three principles:
Reasonable economic growth. Growth is an imperative - historically the greatest success in reducing deficits (late 1980s; late 1990s) took place in the context of economic growth.
Comprehensive spending controls. Bringing the budget to balance will require across-the-board scrutiny of spending and making tough choices on new spending proposals.
Bi-partisanship in budget efforts. Much as the late 1990s witnessed bipartisan efforts to put the fiscal house in order, bi-partisan efforts will be the key to undoing the recent spending binge.

Enhancing international competitiveness to keep jobs here; not abroad.
A lower corporate tax rate.
Improved investment and research incentives to ensure that workers have the most modern technology.
Bringing the budget to balance, reducing federal borrowing, and controlling spending to reduce the burden on the economy.
Comprehensive Spending Controls: John McCain will institute broad reforms to control spending:
The McCain administration would reserve all savings from victory in the Iraq and Afghanistan operations in the fight against Islamic extremists for reducing the deficit. Since all their costs were financed with deficit spending, all their savings must go to deficit reduction.

John McCain will balance the budget by the end of his first term. The near-term path to balance is built on three principles:
Reasonable economic growth. Growth is an imperative - historically the greatest success in reducing deficits (late 1980s; late 1990s) took place in the context of economic growth.
Comprehensive spending controls. Bringing the budget to balance will require across-the-board scrutiny of spending and making tough choices on new spending proposals.
Bi-partisanship in budget efforts. Much as the late 1990s witnessed bipartisan efforts to put the fiscal house in order, bi-partisan efforts will be the key to undoing the recent spending binge.
In the long-term, the only way to keep the budget balanced is successful reform of the large spending pressures in Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. McCain Policies Will Support Reasonable Economic Growth: Small business is the key to job growth. Small business will benefit from:
Low individual tax rates - sole-proprietorships, partnerships, landlords and others are taxed under the individual income tax.
Access to capital from low tax rates on dividends and capital gains.
Minimizing expensive mandates - such as those for health insurance and pro-union initiatives like card check.
Enhancing international competitiveness to keep jobs here; not abroad.
A lower corporate tax rate.
Improved investment and research incentives to ensure that workers have the most modern technology.

My laugh of the day...
My friend posted this earlier in one of her journals..... It has made my night....LOVE IT!
FRIDAY...such a dreary friday
Today has been such a dreary day. It has rained all day long. It is a good thing though. We need the rain. I have had a good day though. This afternoon, Eli went and spent some time with Tommy so Bleeze and I hung out here at home. We made brownie cupcakes. They are yummy! I got new tires on my van today. I have tried to keep Bleeze in. He has a nasty cough and now I am sneezing...uggghh. We went on family date night too. We went to El Mariachi for some yummy Mexican food and then we went to Khols. Tommy needed some long sleeve shirts. So our date night was not really exciting but we were together and had fun. It was just fun to be together. I am thinking that Eli's soccer game may get rained out tomorrow. If the rain stops I think we may try to go to Boo in the Zoo. So for now.. I am off to show my gratitude for today and go to bed.

Dear Friends:
My name is Joe Porter. I live in Champaign, Illinois. I'm
46 years old, a born-again Christian, a husband, a father, a small business
owner, a veteran, and a homeowner. I don't consider myself to be either
conservative or liberal, and I vote for the person, not Republican or
Democrat. I don't believe there are 'two Americas ' but that every person
in this country can be whomever and whatever they want to be if they'll just
work to get there and nowhere else on earth can they find such
opportunities. I believe our government should help those who are
legitimately downtrodden, and should always put the interests of America
first.
The purpose of this message is that I'm concerned about the
future of this great nation. I'm worried that the silent majority of honest,
hard-working, tax-paying people in this country have been passive for too
long. Most folks I know choose not to involve themselves in politics. They
go about their daily lives, paying their bills, raising their kids, and
doing what they can to maintain the good life. They vote and consider doing
so to be a sacred trust. They shake their heads at the political pundits and
so-called 'news', thinking that what they hear is always spun by whomever is
reporting it. They can't understand how elected officials can regularly
violate the public trust with pork barrel spending. They don't want
government handouts. They want the government to protect them, not raise
their taxes for more government programs.
We are in the unique position in this country of electing
our leaders. It's a privilege to do so. I've never found a candidate in any
election with whom I agreed on everything. I'll wager that most of us don't
even agree with our families or spouses 100% of the time. So when I step
into that voting booth, I always try to look at the big picture and cast my
vote for the man or woman who is best qualified for the job. I've hired a
lot of people in my lifetime, and essentially that's what an election is - a
hiring process. Who has the credentials? Whom do I want working for me? Whom
can I trust to do the job right?
I'm concerned that a growing number of voters in this
country simply don't get it. They are caught up in a fervor they can't
explain, and calling it 'change'.
'Change what?', I ask.
'Well, we're going to change America', they say.
'In what way?', I query.
'We want someone new and fresh in= the White House', they
exclaim.
'So, someone who's not a politician?', I say.
'Uh, well, no, we just want a lot of stuff changed, so we're
voting for Obama', they state.
'So the current system, the system of freedom and democracy
that has enabled a man to grow up in this great country, get a fine
education, raise incredible amounts of money and dominate the news, and win
his party's nomination for the White House that system's all wrong?'
'No, no, that part of the system's okay we just need a lot of
change.'
And so it goes. 'Change we can believe in.'
Quite frankly, I don't believe that vague proclamations of
change hold any promise for me. In recent months, I've been asking virtually
everyone I encounter how they're voting. I live in Illinois, so most folks
tell me they're voting for Barack Obama. But no one can really tell me why
only that he's going to change a lot of stuff 'Change, change, change.' I
have yet to find one single person who can tell me distinctly and
convincingly why this man is qualified to be President and
Commander-in-Chief of the most powerful nation on earth other than the fact
that he claims he's going to implement a lot of change.
We've all seen the emails about Obama's genealogy, his
upbringing, his Muslim background, and his church affiliations. Let's ignore
this for a moment. Put it all aside. Then ask yourself, 'What qualifies this
man to be my president? That he's a brilliant orator and talks about
change?'
CHANGE WHAT?
Friends, I'll be forthright with you I believe the American
voters who are supporting Barack Obama don't have a clue what they're doing,
as evidenced by the fact that not one of them - NOT ONE of them I've spoken
to can spell out his qualifications. Not even the most liberal media can
explain why he should be elected. Political experience? Negligible. Foreign
relations? Non-existent. Achievements? Name one. Someone who wants to
unite the country? If you haven't read his wife's thesis from Princeton,
look it up on the web. This is who's lining up to be our next First Lady?
The only thing I can glean from Obama's constant harping about change is
that we're in for a lot of new taxes.
For me, the choice is clear. I've looked carefully at the two
leading applicants for the job, and I've made my choice.
Here's a question - 'Where were you five and a half years
ago? Around Christmas, 2002. You've had five or six birthdays in that time.
My son has grown from a sixth grade child to a high school graduate. Five
and a half years is a good chunk of time. About 2,000 days. 2,000 nights of
sleep. 6, 000 meals, give= or take.'
John McCain spent that amount of time, from 1967 to 1973,
in a North Vietnamese prisoner-of-war camp.
When offered early release, he refused it. He considered
this offer to be a public relations stunt by his captors, and insisted that
those held longer than he should be released first. Did you get that part?
He was offered his freedom, and he turned it down. A regimen of beatings
and torture began.
Do you possess such strength of character? Locked in a filthy
cell in a foreign country, would you turn down your own freedom in favor of
your fellow man? I submit that's a quality of character that is rarely
found, and for me, this singular act defines John McCain.
Unlike several presidential candidates in recent years whose
military service is questionable or non-existent, you will not find anyone
to denigrate the integrity and moral courage of this man. A graduate of
Annapolis, during his Naval service he received the Silver Star, Bronze
Star, Purple Heart and Distinguished Flying Cross. His own son is now
serving in the Marine Corps in Iraq . Barack Obama is fond of saying 'We
honor John McCain's service...BUT...', which to me is condescending and
offensive - because what I hear is, 'Let's forget this man's sacrifice for
his country, and his proven leadership abilities, and talk some more about
change.'
I don't agree with John McCain on everything - but I am utterly
convinced that he is qualified to be our next President, and I trust him to
do what's right. I know in my heart that he has the best interests of our
country in mind. He doesn't simply want to be President - he wants to lead
America, and there's a huge difference. Factually, there is simply no
comparison between the two candidates. A man of questionable background and
motives who prattles on about change, can't hold a candle to a man who has
devoted his life in public service to this nation, retiring from the Navy
in1981 and elected to the Senate in1982.
Perhaps Obama's supporters are taking a stance between old and
new. Maybe they don't care about McCain's service or his strength of
character, or his unblemished qualifications to be President. Maybe
'likeability' is a higher priority for them than 'trust'. Being a prisoner
of war is not what qualifies John McCain to be President of the United
States of America - but his demonstrated leadership certainly DOES.
Dear friends, it is time for us to stand. It is time for
thinking Americans to say, 'Enough.' It is time for people of all parties to
stop following the party line. It is time for anyone who wants to keep
America first, who wants the right man leading their nation, to start a
dialogue with all their friends and neighbors and ask who they're voting
for, and why.
There's a lot of evil in this world. That should be readily
apparent to all of us by now. And when faced with that evil as we are now,
I want a man who knows the cost of war on his troops and on his citizens. I
want a man who puts my family's interests before any foreign country.
I want a President who's qualified to lead.
I want my country back, and I'm voting for John McCain.

Today....
Today has been good. I homeschooled this morning. It was good to have my sweet niece Lexi here today. We enjoyed lunch at Stevie B's and then took a quick trip to the bank and Target. This afternoon Eli had tennis and then tonight I had Bible Study. Watching ER now... I had a great, blessed day.

showing my attitude
of GRATITUDE....
I am grateful today for....
1. My huge coffee cup that Tammy and Tony gave me for my birthday this year. (Tommy refers to it as my bowl ) It helps me make it through my mornings.
2. playing soccer in the back yard with Eli... we had fun.
3. yummy dinner at S&S....good food, cheap prices
4. Bleeze pretending to take our picture w/ his play camera together and then pretending to look at the screen on the back (that has Hannah Montana on it) LOL! and saying "that picture is perfect of us" SO SWEET!
5. The fact that two sweet kids (Eli and Lexi) have spent the entire evening drawing and listening to worship music. That is awesome!

Hump Day update...
Let me start by saying last night I had an awesome date night with Eli. He chose to eat at Fatz???? But okay. I like to eat there. He loves the dinner rolls there. He ate 6! LOL!! They are small but still. He was so sweet dipping them in the yummy honey butter and just chatting up a storm. We laughed the entire night. I felt like I used to when I hung out with my younger brother. We just acted silly. It was fun! Then we went to Dicks to get new goalie gloves. He is really taking this goalie position seriously. We ran by Kmart for me to get some finger nail polish remover and see if they have a black turtleneck for him to wear w/ his Halloween costume. We bought two hotwheels for the boys. Eli picked out a blue car for him and of course green for Bleeze (his favorite color) I haven't been to Kmart in ages. I just could not find a turtleneck for boys anywhere! They had them though. Kmart had such cute fall decorations. After our trip to Kmart we stopped by Sonic for him a Ocean Breeze slush and me a chocolate milkshake (that was not to yummy, I don't think they mixed it)
Today I spent most of the morning doing some reading and homeschooling. This afternoon while Bleeze was napping I went out with Eli and played soccer. We had a blast. ( I hate to say it but my right leg is killing me from kicking it so many times as if though I was kicking into the goal). We took the van to car wash and then went to S&S for dinner. It is so yummy! Good veggies and cheap! After dinner Eli had soccer. It between dropping off and picking up Bleeze and I went home and did a load of laundry and then picked up Eli. We also got Lexi tonight. She is spending the night because of some test Tammy's dad has to have done in the morning. Sending our prayers for him!
Bleeze went to sleep early tonight (thanks to cold medicine, he is so sneezy and drippy) Poor baby! Eli and Lexi have literally been drawing for 2 hours. They are so funny. (At least they are not arguing) LOL!
I did have time today to throw in some political blogs. Some people blow my mind! Anyway, that is all I have to say about that for now.

My sweet friend Brandi wrote this blog. I know, I said I was only going to post a very minimum concerning the election but boy I am feeling the pressure here in the last few days before we vote. I loved her blog and found it to be honest and worth sharing.
now i was not going to do the whole political thing this year because i got REALLY bent out of shape about it last election and i said I wouldn't let it this time around. Last time i wasn't married and didn't have children so i had time to be concerned and wear my bush pens and stickers and everything but now that i have kiddos i haven't really paid much attention. I know that God already knows and is in control of what is going to come of this whole thing but I'm really having to put my faith and trust in him. My Bible study and devotions are really lifting me up but I still feel like I need to say this. I'm voting for John McCain. Many republicans seem to not be behind this man 100% but you still need to back him. In the primaries here in SC i didn't vote for him. I really liked Fred Thompson. Well....he was out soon. LOL! Now I am totally backing McCain. He is our man! The thought that Barack Obama could be our next president is quite unnerving. We don't need a rookie in our world today. HELLO????? what are you people thinking? The world cannot have peace by a handshake! I'm sorry but that is just not going to fly. I feel that Obama is very naive. I don't feel comfortable having someone lead our country that doesn't seem to have a clear perspective on things. Man, he sure does make wonderful speeches and sermons but the problem is that i just don't really believe them. I'm not sure but he does have muslum background and don't you think he may give Iran a little leway. Israel is a great friend of ours and if America knows what is good for her she will keep it that way! God is wanting and calling to all the Americans to make the right choice. Come on people....don't you want our children to experience the freedom we do? I don't want to live in fear the way I did the 6 months after 9.11. I was in TOTAL fear! Biden himself said an attack would be made on the US immediately after (IF) Obama was elected and he didn't know what Obama's response would be. What?!?!?! You know....President Bush made some mistake but who doesn't? Atleast he acted after the attacks and obviously it worked because we had not had another like that since! I feel like I'm living in freedom again! Now we don't need to lose it! If you are at all intelligent and want your children and decendants to know the freedom you have today then make the right choice and vote McCain Palin.

Let's talk Politics.....
I know that some people think that you should keep your personal thoughts on the election to yourself. However, I feel that I need to share mine. To think that Obama may be the next president scares the living crap out of me!!!!! I just want to share some facts with you over the next few days. I pulled these straight from the McCain website. I urge just to read over them. They make sense and they are in no way bashing Obama. I hope you will take time to read over them especially if you are undecided. I told some folks this week this is just my personal impression of Obama. He is smooth, he talks a good talk. You know ladies, like the talk that guy in high school used to talk...smooth, beautiful, music to your ears and then just leaves you hanging in the end! That is how I feel about Obama. He is that suave guy who sweet talks a good talk but deep down you just feel like he is full of it. You don't want to admit it but you just know it. That is what I think a lot of people are thinking. So that is enough on that subject. I will just post my little articles and be about my business. Praying for McCain and our country!!!!

Gratitude
For the past couple of years we(the boys and I) always talk about what we are grateful for. The boys have gratitude journals and so do I. We try to write things in them everyday. I've been doing this for a long time. I always tell my boys to have the "attitude of gratitude". What is gratitude? The dictionary defines it as "a feeling of thankfulness and appreciation". All of my cafemom friends, especially Elle, "count their blessings" everyday. Candy list her top five things she is thankful for that day. I have been inspired, not to be a copy cat or anything but I am going to try to list some things each day that I am grateful for. All of my cafemom friends and Candy, you make me think each day. I've been doing this for a long time in my journals here at home but I think I would like to share my thoughts with others. I can only hope to be half the inspiration you guys have been to me! Thank you! I love you all!!!!
So here is today's list:

4. I am grateful that I laughed until I cried.
5. That my sweet Bleeze got his Scooby Doo set tonight when he and Tommy had their date night.
6. TIVO...without it I would never get to watch my TV shows.
7. My husband that loves me and works long hard hours every single day. He's the best.

The world is looking. We are about to elect a brilliant 47-year- old president of the United States of America.
Remember I said this as much as anything else I said. Watch. We're going to have an international crisis, a generated crisis to test the mettle of this guy.
And he's going to have to make some really tough — I don't know what the decision is going to be, but I promise you it will occur. As a student of history and having served with seven presidents, I guarantee you it will happen.

highlights
I have been kinda busy and lazy lately. The times I could have blogged I have decided to just chillax the past few days. Let me see what are some highlights.
* I finished THE SHACK! AMAZING!
* Took the boys to Cracker Barrel on Friday night. We all wore our Halloween shirts. The boys wore their Halloween Crocks. CUTE! I will have to say that there is nothing like good old Southern Comfort food on a cool night. YUMO! We went to Target. I bought the book The Secret Life of Bees. I am almost finished with it and then I am going to go see the movie. Great Book!
* Saturday we hung out here at home. Took the boys to the new fancy McDonald's for lunch. It is nice. Plasma screen TV's, chandeliers hanging up, high top booths. NICE! Ceramic tile floors( you know I would notice the floor...lol) But the best part is that it does not have a germ factory playground. LOL!
* Saturday night Tommy worked late but that did not keep us from getting our bimonthly date night. We went to Copper River and then ha...WALMART for him to purchase MORE hunting gear.
*Sunday was good. We went to church of course! I am excited about starting the study on I Peter. After church we went to my parents for lunch and then to the Sports Store and Barnes and Noble. I started the Love Dare Book this week. Sunday night Tony and Tammy came over for dinner. We had good conversation. Only to be interrupted by Eli's stomach issues. ugghh.. I think he over ate or something. He was still having some other issues too.
*Monday morning it was off to the doctor with Eli. He is dehydrated (they think from sports) and they are watching for more symptoms leading towards kidney stones. pray that this is not the case. I cleaned house the rest of the day then last night I cooked dinner and the boys and I ate. Tommy was late coming home. After dinner I got the boys in bed and watched some tv myself. I can't believe how much I like One Tree Hill.
* Today has been good. I home schooled this morning and then we met Brandi and her girls at the park. Bleeze and Anna had so much fun. They played "mom and honey" that's what Bleeze calls "house". He calls the mom the mom and the dad the "honey" b/c that is what I call Tommy. LOL! It was so beautiful today.
After lunch I went to the John McCain headquarters for a shirt that I wanted (Elizabeth had it on, on THE VIEW today) They were completely sold out of shirts, no road signs, no bumper stickers, nothing) That's okay though that means he has got lots of supporters. I am really getting frustrated with this entire election. I have had several good arguments and blogs boiling in my head I just do not have the energy 
to post them. It exhaust me. One thing I do want to say though, is regardless of whom you are voting for Obama or McCain, do you honestly think that either one of them can take office and not raise taxes. I mean let's use common sense. Look at the current state of the economy. I will say this. All the programs that Obama promises have to be funded from somewhere...where do you think that money is going to come from??????okay, can't talk about it anymore It is exhausting...lol...no I am serious..it is!

Holy Sha-moly!!!!
On this gloomy cloudy day, I had to make a weekly trip to Walmart. It is so yucky outside and my boys were being very, let's see, what's the word, BAD!!!!!!! They were driving me insane. I always put Bleeze in a stroller and make Eli push it (germ issue with the shopping car). So we are zooming through Wally World with Bleeze screaming to the top of his lungs because he wants this printing machine he saw in the craft department. It cost $100 and was for adults. For some reason he got it in his head that it blew bubbles. It has nothing to do with bubbles. After trying to explain for 10 minutes, I just let him wail and blocked the noise out ( I am really good at that) so I am walking through the lingerie department and what do I see but this.....
No your eyes are deceiving you.... it is LEG WARMERS! YES 1980's leg warmers. I said, "OH MY GOSH" Eli said "What in the world is that? I explained and he looked me and said, "Why in the world would anyone wear those?" I said, "I don't really know, all I know is that many moons ago, I had a pair in every color of the rainbow. I even had leopard print. LOL!!!!!" He said, "You are not going to buy them now are you." LOL!!! I said, "nope, don't think you will see me wearing those this go around" I could not believe it. It brought me so much laughter and flooded back memories of those ugly things. I got a great stress relief from my screaming child who by this time screamed himself to sleep! Thank God for leg warmers in the 1980's for making me "cool" and thank God for them today for giving me a good laugh!!!

Bleeze is shaving ALREADY...LOL!
Bleeze shaving.... he did not want me to take his picture. He got this cute little pretend set the other night on "date night" he loves to play with it. It is so precious!!!!
fun times, cupcakes, politics...LIFE
I am sitting here watching The Golden Girls. I love this show. It makes me laugh so hard!!!!!Makes me think of much I miss you guys....Candy, Tiffany, Christy. Good times!!!!! Anyway, the past few days have been pretty jammed packed and fun. I will hit some of the highlights.
* Tuesday morning was great. Talked with Candy on the phone.... again my friend...I've missed you!
* I also cleaned out the garage. I always get VERY angry when I clean out the garage. My boys make such a mess and all the neighborhood children seem to think they live here. So I was fussing under my breath and out loud about the mess. I said, "Oh, I am so mad, I am about to explode" Bleeze looked at me and said, "Mommy, you can't explode!" I said, WHY? He said, "You got bones in your body" LOL!!!!!!!!! That made me settle down and count my blessings! Thanks sweet Bleeze!
* Let's see, Tuesday night was date night with the boys. I had my sweet Bleeze this week. He wanted to eat at Chickfila again. So we went to Chickfila. He had a lot of fun because the BIG COW was there. The cow gave Bleeze a balloon. He just thought that rocked! He was so cute looking up at that Cow. He must have asked me a thousand times if it was a boy or a girl. I told him a boy but I don't think he believed me. LOL! He said he wanted to go shopping. We got a late start so I said okay, we will go to Target and Hobby Lobby. We had fun. He ran up and down the toy aisles telling me everything he wanted Santa to bring him. I just took my time and let him have fun in the toy department. He got a pretend shaving set. I have some pics to post of him "shaving" but I will have to upload them later. Pressed for time right now. After our shopping trip we headed to Brewsters for ice cream. We sat outside and looked at the moon. (its full) I did not need to look at the moon to know it was full though. I can always tell by my boys behavior and their sleep patterns. So, we had a nice little time. We even sang " I see the moon" a few times. After we got in the car Bleeze wanted to sing "God is Big"he loves it when they sing it at Grace. So we sang it all the way home. After this last time singing I said, " Oh I sure love God" Bleeze said, "I love him too" Made my night!!!!! Once we got home he "shaved" his little face a hundred times. LOL!
* Yesterday was CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to go to Spartanburg for Tommy and then all the way back to Greenville to Pelham for something I needed! UGGGGHHHH!!! The boys were good and entertained themselves. Bleeze even slept! LOL! So while we were out and about. I decided that I am great at multitasking. I was driving, grocery shopping, going through drive through and texting different people all at one time pratically. LOL!!! Bleeze says "mommy text at red lights and stops signs for safety" LOL!!!!
* Speaking of texting Jennifer, I had so much fun chatting with you yesterday. I have laughed about the story you told me. I told Tommy this morning and I was laughing just like the old days just seeing the entire thing in my mind. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! I miss you too...maybe someday I will get to Aiken or you will get to Greenville. You so need to come!!!!
* The weather here has been beautiful. It was warm yesterday afternoon. The boys played outside! While they were playing I was busy practicing my cake decorating. The night before I made red velvet and chocolate cupcakes. So yesterday I decorated them. I will post some pics later. I have to give them out today though so we don't eat them. LOL!
* So last night Tommy worked really late so I watched some episodes of John and Kate plus 8. Ha! They make me realize I can do anything. I only have 2. They rock!!!
* Then there was THE DEBATE! I have made no bones about the fact that I am a McCain supporter! I just have a few things to say.....
1. Do you honestly think that either candidate can do any of the things that they promise without raising some taxes considering the current state of the economy???? I mean it is just common sense people!!! COME ON!!!!
2. I cannot and will not vote for anyone who says that precious life is choice!!!!!! Sorry can't do it. I don't really understand how anyone can. I may write an entire blog on this subject later but I know it is going to cause such a stink I don't know if I am up for it today.
3. I loved that McCain made it clear that he is not George Bush.
4. People need to really pay attention to the "eloquence of Obama's" speech. He uses words like look at, possibly, etc. He his not making promises. He is making things "sound good" Just really look at his policies and see if they are truly possible. I mean, I am not a very intelligent person and I can see how he uses specific wording to make it "sound good" Some of the things he says are not achievable. I can really see how he is a smooth talker.. he makes things sound really good. However, ARE THEY POSSIBLE?? Most of his policies include big government and I am NOT BIG GOVERNMENT!!!! I always think about what people say, "If it looks and sounds to good t0o be true then chances are it is too good to be true." That is what I feel about Obama! (that's just my opinion don't go all crazy on me)
5. I am ready for the election to be over either way. Still supporting McCain all the way!!!!
okay... enough election talk....
So now, I am off to homeschool and run some errands. Looking forward to tonight's Bible study. YAY!!! I also can't wait to watch Grey's and ER. Abby leaves tonight on ER I know I am going to cry a river...Oh! Speaking of crying a river. I am reading the Shack. I am only on chapter 5 and I was crying a river yesterday....Oh...THANKS Tammy for the warning about reading it while camping. SO GLAD THAT I DID NOT READ IT THERE! LOL!!!
* Oh I also want to give a big shout to two peeps. Elle, you counting your blessings and Candy making your thankful list each day. You two inspire me to look at at the little things and be so thankful. Love to you both!!!

Monday...
Monday..... today has defiantly been Monday. I was up bright and early cleaning and homeschooling. Eli did really good this morning and finished quickly. That was great. The highlight of my day was having lunch with Candy. Chickfila....that's our place girl! It was so good to see her. I've missed her like crazy. I LOVED seeing Gracie and Hayden too. Hope to see Hannah soon. Then the boys and I were off to Bilo. I really hate shopping at Bilo but it is in the parking lot with Chickfila. Came home and cleaned the floors and dusted the walls. Oh...and more laundry. Then I cooked some dinner... Beef Stroganoff. (I thought of you Candy, I did not use yogurt though...hehehehe)
After dinner it was soccer time. Eli and he got his pics. So handsome he is. I drove Bleeze to my parents because I did not want him to fall asleep on the way to soccer. When I went back to pick him up, he had gotten a bath and was into a Scooby Doo movie. So I chilled out with them until time to pick up Eli again.
OH! I had a blast talking to Lori tonight too! Girl you make me laugh so hard!!! Glad you joined facebook too. LOL!!!! We've got to plan a camping trip soon! Came home, mopped some more floors, got the boys in bed, did some scheduling, watched One Tree Hill and now I am just chilling with Tommy. He is watching Life on Mars...weird show!!!! I am about to crash. I am beat!!!!Bleeze has had a horrible past three nights sleeping...(full moon Brandi....BEWARE) I have a very busy week. Tomorrow is jammed packed! That's about it for me today. nightie night!
