Weekend Wrap Up....

We survived the first full week of home-school. It is always difficult to get back into a routine and takes us a couple of weeks. That is one of the pleasures of homeschooling you can work it out as you go. The boys seemed to be happy back on a “tight” schedule again. I think they are more productive that way (like both their parents….we have created little organized, scheduled monsters)

The weekend was nice, we enjoyed dinner out as a family on Friday evening and watched the movie Mirror, Mirror which I highly recommend. It was a great movie. Saturday the kiddos got to spend the day with Grandma Joan while business took Tommy and I to the hills. We spent the day in Asheville, and shopping the little shops in Flat Rock. It was so nice. We enjoyed it so much!

Sunday was such a lazy day. We went to church and lunch and then watched movies the entire afternoon/evening. I haven’t done that in ages! It was a nice change!

Today is a rainy start to our week but that’s okay! I have to catch up on my housecleaning and laundry when we are finished with home-school and then it is the usual, dance, dinner, TV, bed routine. Hope everyone has a great start to their week!

Blogging Bash….

I may just have a blogging bash the next few days. It seems that lately I have had tons of thoughts and feelings that it would benefit me to put in writing. But for now thought…. Here is a little update….

Last week, was a good week. The kids and I enjoyed a trip to Chucke Cheese with our best buddies the Stones and a trip to the Apple Farm with Nana Tammy and cousin Lexi. Fun times with some pretty fun kiddos!

Saturday, I enjoyed a ladies brunch for church at Wink. Such a yummy new little restaurant here in Greer. If you are local it is on the corner of the Staples shopping center. (they so need a sign) Hope to go there again soon. I had a photo session in the afternoon with some sweet sisters. I love meeting new people.

Sunday we enjoyed church, lunch, the Indie Craft Parade, a walk downtown, gelato from the Lazy Goat, and a quick trip to Walmart. LOL! Sunday is my favorite day of the week because it is one of the only days we are all together as a family.

This week is crazy busy. Eli’s dance sessions are back (5 days a week) and we started back home school. I enjoying the busy fall season thought. It keeps us organized, scheduled and in order. For now, I am going to get the show moving for today!

such a bad blogger

I feel as if though I have written this same blog a zillion times. I always make a vow and promise to keep up with my blog and yet I fail. It is my own fault though. I allow the little things to keep me from taking the time to do it.... So here is a little catch up...

Eli has had a great summer full of fun with his new dance company friends. I love seeing my kids happy and dance is fulfilling him. In the words of a great friend.... "he was made to dance". I have never been more proud.

Bleeze had a fun summer too... Mostly playing... That boy plays more than any child I have ever seen. HOURS and HOURS of pretend. Mostly with cars or Build-a-Bears. He brightens my day.

Suri...well she has brought so much joy to our home. We can't imagine our life without her. She is such a little blessing. Her sweet smile and disposition are priceless. She is growing and changing everyday. She is waving and saying Dada, Eli, Bite, eat and Mama (nama) is what she calls me. LOL! She is still not crawling but I am not worried. Bleeze never crawled.

Tommy and I have been busy working, working, and working. I am so thankful for my hard working man! We went on a few vacations. We enjoyed a long weekend with my in-laws in Pigeon Forge, TN where we enjoyed Dollywood and the Titanic Museum along with lots of great food and laughter.

Then we enjoyed a week at Harbor Island with my parents. That area is probably my most favorite place to vacation. I love being close to the beach and all the beautiful nature that surrounds you there. We enjoyed Hunting Island, shopping trips into Beaufort, SC, Shrimp Shack, Boondocks, Gullah Island, and of course tons of memories and laughter.

We spent the 4th of July in Gatlinburg, TN. This was a first for us. We have never spent an entire week in Gatlinburg. We had a great time. We visited Dollywood almost everyday with our season passes. The highlight for me was at midnight on the 4th we enjoyed a parade and firework show. It was such fun. We relaxed the entire week. swimming and just being lazy.

We just enjoyed 10 days at Myrtle Beach. We had a great time. I love the beach, I have to admit though.... Even though we had an amazing time and I would not trade the memories made last week for the world, I am just not a Myrtle Beach kind of girl. We had not been in 8 years. We have beach vacationed in Florida, and the Belfort area for the past 8 years so it was a fun change but there is so much hustle and bustle and I guess I had gotten you to do nothing. LOL! We had a great time on the beach..... My favorite thing we did was The Pirate's Voyage dinner show. Such fun! Not to mention Ripley's Aquarium, Broadway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing, and food...ahhh...food. We ate so much! I am detoxing this week. We were lucky to get to have dinner with our friends the Eubanks and we also enjoyed spending time with our friends/neighbors the Clishams too! It was a great 10 days and I feel extremely blessed to have the time with my sweet family.

So what is on the agenda now??? Well, we start home school MONDAY! Whew... then it is all the normal fall excitement. I actually hate to see summer go every year but this year I have to admit I am excited for fall. I can't wait for Halloween with Suri, and then all the dance competitions coming up with Eli and then it will be all the Holiday fun!

So for now... I am going to make one more attempt at this blogging adventure. I used to be so faithful to blogging. I started having mixed emotions because so many times you post your thoughts and feelings and then causes so much emotion and sometimes struggles between relationships. I often question is it worth it? However, I have decided that my blog is MY blog. I can basically blog what I like and if I do it in LOVE then all should end well... and if it doesn't....maybe that is just the way it is supposed to be.

So leaving on a happy note... Have a Happy Hump Day!
